To ensure the accurate and efficient use of resources, The Thompson Group have invested in a state of the art mobile task management system.

Our customer service and administration team can create and maintain our own bespoke mobile based form templates to suit each client’s job and data collection requirements.

Once a new project is received in the office, our team will:

  • Create a new task on the system
  • Select the appropriate mobile form template
  • Fill in the project details
  • Select ‘Worker’, ‘Group’ or ‘All’ as appropriate and
  • Click ‘send’

The relevant site engineers will then receive the task details on their hand held PDA’s or smart phones and will then attend site as required.

Once the job is complete, the engineer will complete the details of work carried out using the on screen form, and can also obtain a signature from the clients’ representative on site if required, before ‘saving’ the task, which will be relayed to our secure servers and can also be e-mailed to our clients’ central administration team or accounts department as required.

This system reduces the amount of paperwork and ensures that the relevant data doesn’t get lost in transit, allows for dual branded or client driven administrative processes and enables the optimisation of resources through the ability to direct the nearest engineer to the next job, so improving response times whilst also saving fuel costs and reducing emissions.

This technology often proves the most effective on our service and maintenance teams where response times are written into our Service Level Agreements.
