Fire Alarm detection devices
Fire Alarm systems – types
Fire Alarms are legally required (in the majority of non-residential buildings) to automatically detect fire and alert people to its presence
- Conventional Fire Alarms
- Addressable Fire Alarms
- Wireless Fire Alarms
- Hybrid Fire Alarm systems
- Thompson AVC are fully approved installers of Notifier Fire Alarm systems
- Thompson Group Services are fully approved installers of Gent Fire Alarm systems
- Thompson AVC are fully approved installers of Morley Fire Alarm systems
- Integration with a host of other Fire Safety and Life Safety systems
- Fully compliant with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
- LPS1014 certified system design, installation, commissioning and servicing
Fire Alarm detection devices
Fire Alarm detection devices are a collection of individual devices used to provide the earliest detection of a genuine fire in a wide variety of environments
- Smoke detection
- Heat detection
- CO (Carbon Monoxide) detection
- Variable sensitivity to suit different environments
- Multi-detection devices
- Beam detection
- Video detection
- Connected Life Safety Services (CLSS)
- Li-Ion Tamer Rack Monitoring System
- Manual Call Point
Air sampling / Aspiration systems
Air sampling or aspiration systems use a series of connected pipes to draw air from protected areas, through a detection chamber, to provide the earliest detection of a fire, in often more challenging circumstances than a traditional fire alarm system
- Detects the smallest particles of smoke
- Ideal for protecting large spaces – atriums, warehouses, etc.
- Provides less disruption during servicing
- Perfect for applications where standard detection methods are prone to failure or false alarm
- Ideal for areas where aesthetics matter
- Ideal for areas which are difficult to reach for servicing – i.e. Lift shafts
- Design software ensures effective coverage to all areas
- Loop based detectors offer integration giving operator full detail at the control panel
- Suitable for cold storage facilities
- Single device protects up to 2,000 m2
Remote monitoring
Enables remote monitoring and interrogation of a Fire Alarm system – often enabling and accelerating human intervention to a live fire or life safety event
- Operational 24hrs a day, 365 days a year
- Can personally monitor alarm system
- Can be linked to professional alarm receiving centre (ARC) who can contact Fire Service
- EN54 certified
- Sends signals via 4G WorldSIM for maximum uptime
- Cost effective addition
- Often provides reduction in insurance premiums
- Latest systems will not be affected by PSTN switch off in 2025
Emergency Voice Communication Systems
Emergency Voice Communication Systems (or EVCS) are required in all non- residential buildings of more than one storey and enables live two way audio communications between someone with mobility issues which prevents or delays their self powered evacuation from a building in the event of a fire or other event, with those who are trained to provide assistance in such an event
- Legally required in all non-domestic premises over 1 storey high
- Not just for use during a fire
- Different size systems are available to suit application
- Full two way voice communications
- Larger systems installed with fire rated network cables
- Includes Fire Fighting Telephone Systems
- Includes Disabled Toilet alarms
- Dedicated power supply
Fire Risk Assessments
Fire Risk Assessments are legally required, detailed inspection of a building / facility undertaken by a ‘Competent Person’ to identify and evaluate, then remove or minimise any risk of fire
- Compatible with all UK fire and life safety regulations
- Independently certified Fire Risk Assessors
- Assessors recognised as a ‘Competent Person’ under Fire Safety Regulations
- Assessments are completed in real time (using a tablet PC) whilst our Assessor is on site
- Findings recorded on our fully compliant bespoke Fire Risk Assessment app
- Full compliance with PAS 79
- Client’s authorised personnel can access their FRA and add evidence to prove later compliance
- App licences available (conditions apply)
- Suitable for use in all environments
- Additional Fire Safety training available
Fire extinguishers / gas suppression systems
Portable or fixed fire fighting equipment which use water, chemical or gas to suppress and ultimately extinguish a fire
- Portable or fixed fire fighting equipment
- Variety of sizes available
- Full range of extinguishants available to suit all classes of fire
- Full Fire Extinguisher servicing and replacement capability
- Fire Extinguisher training available
- Stainless and high end extinguisher finishes available
- Fire fighting station stands available
- Fire extinguisher covers available
- Gas suppression systems
Graphic systems
Graphic systems combine a plan view of the building(s) / facilities being protected with the zone chart / device location map of all connected fire detection devices – enabling trained personnel to identify eactly where a fire is in real time and to assist in notifying appropriate fire safety personnel
- See current state of your fire systems in real time
- View all detection devices from one dashboard
- Graphical floor plans for fire and non-fire reporting
- History manager
- Manage multiple local device networks and remote sites
- Paging and e-mail notifications
- Connect both legacy and new fire alarm systems
- Demonstrate compliance
- Reduce response times
- Easy to manage
Fire Alarm monitoring via the cloud
Fire Alarm monitoring via the cloud provides enhanced and remote access and management of your Fire Alarm systems across your site or even across multiple, connected sites
- Complete 360 degree view of the Fire Alarm system in real time
- Monitor system faults and alerts on your phone
- Available on desktop or via iOS or Android apps
- Reports age and condition of each connected device
- Remotely monitor PPM progress
- Events and activity recorded in the cloud – creating expandable storage levels to suit requirements
- Quick and accessible reports to prove compliance and system health
- Improve incident response times
- Enables system maintainer to access more detailed reports / data on system health
- Scalable
- Flexible
