The project
Originally built as a speculative development, 100 Avebury Boulevard has been designed to create a landmark building for the city of Milton Keynes.
With over 140,000 sq. ft. of Grade A office space and integrated retail space over 8 floors, the building has been crafted to the very highest standards and all designed with staff wellbeing at the core of its design.
The right connections.
As well as the city’s excellent transport links and being ideally located at the centre of the UK’s ‘Innovation Corridor’ between Oxford and Cambridge, the new office development is also close to the city centre and is only a short walk from the central station.
But as more businesses switch to flexible working and remote collaboration, the new development also has the advantage of being designed and built from the ground up as Milton Keynes’ first Gigabit enabled building; which is no doubt why it has already been fully let.
How we helped
In addition to the architect’s focus on the occupants’ health and wellbeing, there was an equal focus on the creation of a secure and life safety led building which is easy for authorised people to access and work in; whilst knowing that the building has been designed with their security and safety as a priority.
To fulfil these requirements, we designed and installed a suite of advanced and connected technologies including:
- Access Control
- Internal and external IP CCTV cameras to provide a global view of the site
- Comprehensive Fire Alarm system with over 600 connected devices
- Linear Heat detection system in the car park to accurately detect the presence of a fire
- Aspiration system to detect the smallest particles of smoke throughout the stunning 10m high reception space
- Emergency Voice Communication System (Refuge system) with 39 outstations, enabling anyone to call for assistance from any exit point on any floor
- Global Intruder Alarm system covering access points
- Disabled toilet alarm system
- Video intercom
