The new £100 million, 8-storey, 14,000m2 Birmingham hospital will be equipped with the latest technology to offer some of the most complex surgical and medical procedures in cancer, cardiology, neurology, hepatobiliary, urology, orthopaedics and stem cell transplantation to private patients in the West Midlands; as well as providing extra capacity and access to specialist facilities for NHS patients.

How we helped

In order to provide a comprehensive suite of Fire Safety, Life Safety and assistance technologies to keep the hospital occupants safe and to comply with the highest levels of healthcare and fire safety regulations, we provided:

  • Emergency Voice Communication Systems
  • Category L1 addressable Fire Alarm system utilising 12 control panels connected to over 1,500 devices
  • Aspiration system to detect the smallest particles of smoke and provide the earliest warning of any potential fire
  • Automatic door retainers connected to the Fire Alarm system
  • Electronic Fire Signage with battery back up
  • Counter and room induction loops
  • Provision of comms room Gas Suppression system
