The client

With responsibility for maintaining and developing the University’s Estate, spread over 3 disparate campuses up to 20 miles apart, and used by over 25,000 students and staff from over 100 countries, the University of Wolverhampton’s Estates and Facilities Team have a very important role to play in the day to day running of the whole organisation.

With a mixture of educational and residential facilities ranging from the ultra-modern to those with more character and history; and with matching security, fire and life safety systems; the Estates Team have a wide range of technologies and systems under their management; some of which had been specified before the University owned the site and others which had been installed using different approaches over many years.

To ensure that they not only obtain the best operational efficiency from both the legacy and modern equipment, whilst also maximising value for money, the Estates Team needed to work with a forward thinking, customer focused supplier, who could take a long term, evolutionary view, to provide the best systems over a period of time which would eventually place the university amongst the most cutting edge in the industry whilst operating within the limitations of each year’s annual budget.
